waiting until it’s perfect? don’t forget your madness

Hey pretty,

Lately I’ve been dancing the sad and torturous dance with perfectionism.

Like you, I have so many big dreams. I dream of speaking to you all. Sharing thoughts. Connecting. Inspiring. Being honest.

Yet, every time I go to share I just…don’t.

Do you ever experience this? You get an idea or have a desire. You know it’s good, like straight from the the real, unedited you good. You put a little elbow grease in it, develop it out a bit and then bam – you just let it fall flat without seeing it through?

You tell yourself, “It’s not good enough. It’s not ready yet. What if they can read between the lines and see all my mess? What if I fail? Yes, I should wait.”

Artists, creators, dreamers, and women – we all know what usually happens when we decide to “wait”.

So I say it’s high time we declare:

[Tweet “Perfectionism is so 1950s.Have at it if you want, but if you’re awake it’s time u add ur Madness.”]

Embracing the madness within will propel you into fresh momentum. I’m taking all of my  proverbial pretty boxes I packaged just so and adding my grit. So far, so good.

With this shift and my renewed commitment to showing up (and possibly my recent trip to Coachella), my muse has returned.  Please enjoy my latest written piece…

So here’s to us: Our Mess. Our Light. Our Madness. Our Masterpiece.

With passion,
